If you’re looking for a laptop friendly and work conducive cafe, Runes is easily your top choice! This spacious cafe is very well-lit, and we recommend snatching a spot near the floor-to-ceiling windows for a view of the greenery outside. There are multiple types of seating to choose from, each is very comfortable and located near a power plug. This cafe is known to be work-friendly, since it features free wifi and is relatively quiet. The only downside of Runes is that it is only open from 8am to 4pm on weekdays.

What we ordered:

• 🍽[Runes Platter - $16] - This decadent platter includes bread, scrambled eggs, smoked salmon, guacamole and hummus. The scrambled egg was nice and fluffy, but the guacamole and hummus were a bit underwhelming for us. (6.5/10)
• 🍝[Bolognese Pasta - $11] - The portion was quite small for its price. However, it still makes for an enjoyable and filling meal (8.0/10)
• 🍵[Iced Matcha - $6.5] - Not too sweet with a good amount of matcha. A refreshing drink to sip while getting work done. (8.0/10)
• 🥖[Kouign Amann - $4.5] - Sweet and absolutely delightful, with a flaky exterior and chewy interior. (8.5/10)
• 🥐[Croissant - $4] - Flaky, buttery and indulgent treat. Dunk the pastry in hot chocolate or a latte for a chef's-kiss combo (9.0/10)
• ☕[Hot Chocolate - $6] - Decadent, hot and rich in chocolate flavour. Definitely a great comfort drink. (8/10)

Despite its average-quality brunch and weekdays-only opening hours, Runes is a gem for study spots seekers, providing its patrons with a very conducive studying environment complete with delicious drinks and pastry.
